A selection of video recordings from the early ElectroScan ESEM is given below. They were originally recorded on analog VHS format tape about 20 years ago. They have now been digitised in 720x576 MPEG-2 type files, from which several excerpts have been resampled and downsized to 208x160 Windows Media Video (.wmv) format for Internet streaming. As a result, the quality has been significantly reduced (as can be seen from the superimposed text). Much earlier recordings from the first prototype ESEM in Sydney cannot be recovered from the "Umatic" tapes made in 1983; a film from those recordings has survived and it will be presented when it becomes available in digital form.
